These will be drop in sessions so be sure to see them early in the day to secure your place.
Planting for the Pollinators
Kids of all ages can have a go at this free activity. Start your own sustainability journey by planting your own flower seeds in a biodegradable pot and creating a colourful plant label. This is a drop in activity.
Draw me a Garden

Take a template and design your own beautiful butterfly for our collaborative garden collage.
Birds on a wire
Can you origami? Follow guidance to make a simple origami bird from upcycled magazines. Thread it up on our giant mobile and lets see how big we can make our flock.
Inside the Lines
At the Handmade and Creative Market we want to design a fundraising colouring book and we want you to help. Draw us a line drawing linked to our Wild Gardens theme and our team will select our 20 favourite pieces to be featured in the first ever colouring book later this year. If your piece is chosen you will win 5 copies of the book to share with family and friends and some wonderful arty vouchers.
Grab a seat and an instruction sheet and have a go at making your own Macrame bracelet. These beginner knotting techniques can be applied to a range of different projects such as hanging planters and wall art pieces.
Perfect Pom Poms - Huge yarn rug
Over the two days we are all going to be making a huge Pom Pom and yarn rug. We will be creating an abstract garden design in a range of different colours, sizes and textures. You can make pom poms, tassels, tufty grass or have a go at weaving the sky. This is a sit down and have a go activity. You can make your pom poms in whatever colour or size you like and attach it to the canvas. Work with people around you to make a flower, tree or to complete a particular area. You can even get more involved with the overall design and placement of poms. All we ask is that you do your best to minimise waste and put all your yarn trimmings in the recycling tub, not the bin.
Want to enter our traditional art competition? We will have plenty of art materials available on the day for you to create your own master piece. Just take a seat and draw.
Join us to raise awareness of our wonderful garden wildlife and how we can look after them for generations to come. Prizes will be awarded for the best posters each day.
